Duchovny Says He Was 'Immature' and 'Selfish'
David Duchovny has opened up about his regrets over his friendship with Gillian Anderson during their time on "The X-Files." In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Duchovny admitted that he could have handled himself better.
"I was immature and selfish," Duchovny said. "I didn't always treat her with the respect she deserved." He added that he was "jealous" of Anderson's success and that he "took her for granted."
Anderson Has Said She Was 'Hurt' by Duchovny's Behavior
Anderson has previously spoken about how Duchovny's behavior hurt her. In a 2015 interview with The New York Times, she said that she felt "betrayed" by him. "I thought we were friends," she said. "But I guess I was wrong."
Duchovny Says He's 'Grateful' for Second Chance
Despite their past problems, Duchovny and Anderson have since reconciled. They are now friends and co-stars on "The X-Files" revival. Duchovny says he's "grateful" for the second chance.
"I'm so lucky to have Gillian in my life," he said. "She's an amazing person and I'm so grateful for her friendship."
