'Best three points of the season', says coach as Worcester City win over Boldmere
A delighted Worcester City manager hailed Saturday's 2-0 victory over Boldmere St Michaels as "the best three points of the season so far".
Goals from Ethan Moore - his fourth of the campaign - and Cemal Ramadan secured an impressive victory for City, who dominated for large spells at Aggborough.
The result lifted Worcester up to sixth in the Southern League Division One Central table and extended their unbeaten run to four matches.
Speaking after the game, City boss Tim Harris said: "I thought it was a really good performance, especially in the first half. We created some good chances and could have been three or four up at half-time.
He added: "We had to work hard in the second half, but we defended resolutely and got the goal to kill the game off. It was a really good win and I'm delighted with the players.
Worcester took the lead in the 20th minute when Moore fired home from close range after good work from Ramadan.
The hosts doubled their advantage just before the hour mark when Ramadan headed home from a corner.
Boldmere rarely threatened the Worcester goal and City could have added to their tally in the closing stages.
The victory was Worcester's first at home since August and Harris was pleased with the way his team responded to last weekend's defeat at Alvechurch.
He said: "We knew it was going to be a tough game, but we prepared well and the players executed the game plan perfectly.
He added: "It's a big three points for us and it gives us a lot of confidence going into the next few games.
Worcester will be looking to make it five unbeaten when they travel to Alvechurch on Tuesday night.
