Gemma Atkinson gives Hits Radio team a special treat on her birthday
A special treat for one lucky fan
Gemma Atkinson may have turned 40, but she’s still young at heart, as the Hits Radio team found out when she turned the tables on her birthday prank. The presenter and former Hollyoaks star was celebrating her special day on air, and her colleagues had planned a surprise to mark the occasion. But Gemma had a surprise of her own up her sleeve.
As the team played a montage of messages from famous faces and fans, Gemma pretended to be overwhelmed with emotion. But then, she suddenly burst into laughter and revealed that she had been in on the prank all along. The team were left red-faced, but they couldn’t help but admire Gemma’s quick thinking and sense of humour.
However, the surprises didn’t end there. Gemma then surprised the team with a special treat - a performance from her favourite band, The Wanted. The band played a selection of their hits, including their latest single, “Gold Forever.”
Gemma said she was “so happy” to have The Wanted perform on her birthday. “They’re my favourite band, and I’ve been a fan of theirs since they first started out,” she said. “It was an amazing surprise, and I’m so grateful to the Hits Radio team for making it happen.”
The Hits Radio team were delighted to have Gemma celebrate her birthday with them. “Gemma is a wonderful person, and we’re so lucky to have her as part of the team,” said Hits Radio breakfast show host Fleur East. “She’s always so positive and upbeat, and she always puts a smile on our faces. We wish her all the best for the future.
