Cambridge hold on for point against high-flying Barnsley
U's twice come from behind to earn draw at Oakwell.
The U's twice came from behind to earn a point against high-flying Barnsley at Oakwell on Saturday afternoon.
The Tykes took the lead through Devante Cole after just six minutes, but Harvey Knibbs levelled things up with a stunning strike from 25 yards just five minutes later. Barnsley regained the lead through Liam Kitching just after the half hour mark, but Wes Hoolahan, who was deployed as a wing-back on Saturday, equalised again on the stroke of half-time.
Both sides had chances to win the game in the second half, but neither side could find a winning goal, and the game ended 2-2.
The point sees Cambridge move up to 12th in the League One table, while Barnsley drop to fourth.
