Chelsea and Manchester City draw in the Women's Super League
Blues and Citizens play out goalless stalemate at Kingsmeadow
Chelsea and Manchester City played out a goalless draw in the Women's Super League on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues had the better of the first half and created several chances, but they were unable to find a breakthrough.
Manchester City improved after the break and came close to scoring on a number of occasions, but Chelsea held on for a point.
The result leaves Chelsea in second place in the WSL table, one point behind leaders Arsenal.
Manchester City are in third place, three points behind Chelsea.
Chelsea manager Emma Hayes said: "I'm disappointed with the result, but I'm pleased with the performance.
"We created a lot of chances in the first half and we should have taken one of them.
"But Manchester City are a good team and they made it difficult for us in the second half.
"We're still in a good position in the league and we're looking forward to the next game."
Manchester City manager Gareth Taylor said: "I'm happy with the point.
"Chelsea are a very good team and they made it difficult for us today.
"We had a few chances to win the game, but we couldn't take them.
"But we're still in a good position in the league and we're looking forward to the next game."
