Chris McCausland reveals the Strictly bosses offer he refused

Former Gogglebox star says he would have been a 'liability' on Strictly dancefloor

Chris McCausland was offered a place on Strictly Come Dancing but he turned it down as he thought he would be a "liability".

The former Gogglebox star said he was approached by show bosses to take part in the popular BBC dancing competition but he declined the offer as he didn't think he was up to the challenge.

Speaking to The Sun, Chris said: "I was approached to do Strictly a while back. I'd never say never but I'd have to think about it very carefully.

"I'd probably be a liability on the dancefloor! I'm just not a dancer. I'm more of a watcher."

Chris also said that he would be too busy to commit to the show, which requires contestants to train for several hours a day and perform live each week.

"I'm not sure I'd be able to commit to the training and the live shows," he said. "It's a huge commitment and I'm not sure I'm up for it at the moment."

Chris is not the first celebrity to turn down an offer to appear on Strictly.

Other stars who have declined the offer include: Graham Norton, Davina McCall, Amanda Holden, and Simon Cowell.
