David Healy salutes ‘resilient Linfield’ after win over champions Larne
Blues boss hails character of his players as they maintain unbeaten start to the season with narrow victory
Linfield manager David Healy has praised the "resilience" of his players after they maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a narrow 1-0 victory over champions Larne at Inver Park on Saturday.
The Blues had to dig deep to secure the three points, with Chris McKee's first-half goal proving to be the difference between the two sides.
Healy was delighted with his team's performance, particularly their ability to grind out a result in difficult conditions.
Healy: 'We showed great character'
"I'm really pleased with the players," said Healy.
"We showed great character and resilience to come here and win. Larne are a good side, but we stuck to our game plan and deserved the three points."
The win sees Linfield move top of the Danske Bank Premiership table, two points clear of Larne.
Healy is hoping his team can continue their good form in the coming weeks.
Healy: 'We're in a good place'
"We're in a good place at the moment," said Healy.
"We're playing well and winning games. We just need to keep working hard and see where it takes us."
Linfield's next game is at home to Glentoran on Tuesday night.
