Ed Francis reacts to Lincoln City draw
Manager discusses another hard-fought point for the Imps
Michael Appleton’s men have now lost just one of their last 11 League One games
Ed Francis has praised the character of his Lincoln City players after they fought back to earn a point against high-flying Lincoln City at the LNER Stadium on Saturday.
The Imps fell behind to a goal from Anthony Scully in the first half, but they levelled through Ben House after the break.
Francis was pleased with his team’s response to going behind, and he believes the point could be a valuable one in the long run.
Here is what Francis had to say after the game:
- “I thought we showed great character to come back from behind and earn a point against a very good Lincoln City side.”
- “We knew it was going to be a tough game, but we stuck to our game plan and created some good chances.”
- “The goal we conceded was a bit disappointing, but we didn’t let it affect us and we kept pushing for an equalizer.”
- “I’m really proud of the players for the way they performed today. They showed great spirit and determination.”
- “This is a point that could be valuable in the long run. We’re now unbeaten in our last 11 League One games, and we’re starting to climb the table.”
Lincoln City are now ninth in League One, just three points outside the play-off places.
They will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to face Morecambe in the Papa John’s Trophy.
