Garry Monk: Cambridge must bounce back from 'horrible' loss
Monk's reaction to Cambridge United's defeat
Cambridge United manager Garry Monk has admitted that the team were not at their best in their last match, which they lost 4-0 at home to Sutton United and he insists they must respond in their next fixture.
The defeat was Cambridge's first at home in the league this season and Monk knows that the team needs to improve in the next game otherwise they could be in danger of slipping down the table.
After the game, Monk said: "We have to be better than that, We had a bad day at the office and we have to bounce back from this horrible loss."
"We know that we were not good enough. The players know that we were not good enough and we must react in the next game."
What went wrong against Sutton United
Cambridge were second best for most of the game against Sutton United and Monk was not happy with the defending.
He said: "We were not good enough defensively. We conceded four goals and we should not be doing that.
We need to be more organised and we need to be more difficult to beat."
Cambridge also failed to create many chances in the game and Monk knows that the team needs to improve their attacking play.
He said: "We did not create enough chances. We need to be more creative and we need to find a way to score more goals."
How Cambridge can bounce back
Cambridge will host Bradford City in their next game and Monk knows that it is a must win game for the team.
He said: "We need to bounce back from this defeat. We need to show that we are a good team and we need to get three points against Bradford City."
Cambridge are currently 12th in the League Two table and Monk knows that the team needs to start climbing the table if they want to achieve their promotion ambitions.
He said: "We want to be a top six team and we need to start winning games. We need to put this defeat behind us and we need to focus on the next game."
