Seven Professionals Appointed to Select German Act
The German broadcaster NDR has revealed the seven professionals who will make up the national jury for Junior Eurovision 2024.
The jury will be responsible for selecting the act that will represent Germany at the competition in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
The jury members are:
- Thomas Schreiber - Head of the NDR Children's and Youth Programmes department
- Alexandra Wolfslast - Children's and youth television editor at NDR
- Anke Engelke - Comedian, actress, and presenter
- Ole Specht - Musician and music producer
- Giovanni Zarrella - Singer, presenter, and actor
- Michéle - Singer and songwriter
- Tonbandgerät - Music duo
The jury will consider a number of factors when selecting the German act, including the song's quality, the artist's vocal ability, and the overall stage presence.
The German national final will be held on September 20, 2024. The winner of the national final will represent Germany at Junior Eurovision 2024.
Germany's Junior Eurovision History
Germany has participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 17 times since its debut in 2003.
Germany's best result was in 2020, when Pauline Steinlin and the song "Imagine Us" placed seventh.
Germany has not won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest yet.

Junior Eurovision 2024 will be the 22nd edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
The contest will be held in Liverpool, United Kingdom, on December 23, 2024.
20 countries are expected to participate in the contest.
