Hinshelwood excited to perform at Forest Green
Bristol City's Dean Holden hails the quality of striker Tommy
Bristol City fans are expected to travel in huge numbers to the New Lawn Stadium on Saturday, hoping to see Tommy Hinshelwood make his mark against Forest Green Rovers.
Hinshelwood, 19, was handed his first-team debut by new boss Dean Holden towards the end of the campaign and made a positive impression on his senior bow.
Now, the teenage frontman could get the chance to shine against a League One rival in the Carabao Cup on Saturday.
And Robins boss Holden has backed Hinshelwood to impress, saying: "I've been very impressed with him. He's a young lad, but he's got a good head on his shoulders. He's a good finisher and he's got a good football brain.
Hinshelwood will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Antoine Semenyo and Alex Scott. Those two players have broken into the Robins' first-team after impressing for the development squad.
And Holden believes Hinshelwood has the potential to do the same. He added: "He's a player that we've got high hopes for. He's a player that we think can go all the way to the top. So we're going to give him all the support that we can."
Hinshelwood will be hoping to impress Holden on Saturday, but he knows that he will have to work hard to earn a regular place in the team.
Hinshelwood said: "I know that I've got a lot of hard work ahead of me. But I'm willing to put in the effort to try and reach the first team." Saturday's game against Forest Green will be a good test for Hinshelwood. If he can perform well against a League One side, then he will have a good chance of making a name for himself at Bristol City.
