Holloway, Myers Earn Individual Titles at District Swim Meet
Local Swimmers Shine at District Meet
Two local swimmers, Emily Holloway and Ethan Myers, earned individual titles at the District Swim Meet held last weekend. Holloway won the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke, while Myers won the 200-yard individual medley.
Holloway's Impressive Performance
Holloway, a junior at Liberty High School, had a standout performance at the meet. She swam the 50-yard freestyle in 24.56 seconds, edging out her nearest competitor by 0.3 seconds. She also won the 100-yard backstroke in 58.23 seconds, setting a new personal best.
Myers's Dominance in the IM
Myers, a senior at Crestwood High School, dominated the 200-yard individual medley. He swam the event in 1:59.45, nearly two seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Myers's victory helped Crestwood win the team championship for the third year in a row.
Other Notable Performances
In addition to Holloway and Myers, several other local swimmers had strong performances at the meet. Sarah Jones of Liberty High School finished third in the 100-yard butterfly, while Alex Smith of Crestwood High School placed fourth in the 50-yard freestyle.
