Irish Premiership: Larne 0 Linfield 1
Linfield keep title hopes alive with narrow win at Larne
Linfield kept their Irish Premiership title hopes alive with a narrow 1-0 victory over Larne at Inver Park on Saturday.
Shayne Lavery's first-half strike proved to be the difference between the two sides as the Blues moved back to within three points of leaders Glentoran.
Larne started the game brightly and had the first chance when Lee Bonis' shot was saved by Linfield goalkeeper Chris Johns.
However, it was Linfield who took the lead in the 25th minute when Shayne Lavery fired home from close range after being set up by Christy Manzinga.
Larne pushed for an equalizer in the second half, but they were unable to find a way past the Linfield defense.
The result leaves Linfield in second place in the table, three points behind Glentoran with three games remaining.
