'It will be a great game' – Chelsea excited to face Manchester City says Bompastor
Chelsea manager, Emma Hayes and forward Bethany England are relishing the prospect of facing Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals.
The two sides will meet at Kingsmeadow on Sunday, April 16, for a place in the final at Wembley.
Chelsea are the holders of the trophy, having beaten Arsenal 3-0 in last season's final. They will be looking to retain their title and claim a fourth FA Cup triumph in five years.
Manchester City are also in good form, having won their last four matches in all competitions. They will be hoping to reach the FA Cup final for the first time since 2019, when they lost to West Ham.
Hayes is excited about the prospect of facing Manchester City, who she believes are one of the best teams in the world.
"It's going to be a great game," Hayes said. "Manchester City are a top team, so it's going to be a tough test for us. But we're confident in our ability and we're looking forward to the challenge."
England is also looking forward to the match and is confident that Chelsea can beat Manchester City.
"We know it's going to be a tough game, but we're confident in our ability," England said. "We're the holders of the trophy and we want to retain it. We're going to go out there and give it our all."
The FA Cup semi-final between Chelsea and Manchester City will be played at Kingsmeadow on Sunday, April 16. Kick-off is at 12:30pm.
