Jeremy Clarkson to be removed from Top Gear

The Top Gear presenter's contract will not be renewed following his suspension for allegedly punching a producer.

### The BBC confirmed that Jeremy Clarkson's contract will not be renewed after an internal investigation into an alleged incident which saw him suspended from the show.

The BBC said in a statement: "Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended following a fracas with a Top Gear producer. The BBC has now completed its investigation into the incident and has decided that it will not renew his contract."

It is believed that Clarkson hit the producer in the face during a row over catering at a hotel following a day's filming in Yorkshire.

The BBC said that no further comment would be made at this stage.

Clarkson is said to have apologized to the producer and the BBC over the incident.

The presenter has been the face of Top Gear for the past 11 years and has helped to make the show one of the most popular in the world.

It is not yet known who will replace Clarkson on the show.

The other two presenters, Richard Hammond and James May, have said that they will not continue with the show without Clarkson.

The future of Top Gear is now in doubt.
