Johanna Rytting Kaneryd: 'Stamford Bridge is always special'
In an exclusive interview with ChelseaFC.com, the Swedish defender discusses her return to the Bridge, her Chelsea debut and her ambitions for the future.
'It was a special moment for me'
"It was a special moment for me to come back to Stamford Bridge," said Kaneryd. "I have so many good memories from my time here, so it was great to be back and see the fans again."
The Swedish defender made her Chelsea debut in the Blues' 2-1 win over Manchester United in the Continental Cup in December. She played the full 90 minutes and helped her team keep a clean sheet.
"It was a great feeling to make my debut for Chelsea," said Kaneryd. "It was a tough game, but we managed to get the win, which was the most important thing."
Kaneryd is a versatile defender who can play at left-back or centre-back. She is a strong tackler and a good passer of the ball. She is also good in the air and is a threat from set-pieces.
"I think I can bring a lot to the team," said Kaneryd. "I'm a good defender and I'm always looking to improve. I'm also a good team player and I'm always willing to help my teammates."
Kaneryd has big ambitions for the future. She wants to win trophies with Chelsea and play for Sweden at the World Cup.
"I want to win everything with Chelsea," said Kaneryd. "We have a great team and I think we can achieve anything. I also want to play for Sweden at the World Cup. It would be a dream come true."
