Emerging Wallabies back Joseph Suaalii will start on the bench as Australia take on Wales in Cardiff on Saturday.

The 19-year-old will make his Test debut after being named among the replacements by coach Dave Rennie. Suaalii, who has been in impressive form for the Queensland Reds in Super Rugby, will provide cover for wingers Marika Koroibete and Tom Wright.

Wallabies coach Dave Rennie said he was excited to see Suaalii make his debut.

"He's a special talent and I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do at Test level," Rennie said. "He's got a lot of potential and I think he can be a really good player for us."

Suaalii's selection is a reflection of his impressive form for the Reds. He has scored five tries in seven matches this season and has been one of the most dangerous attacking players in Super Rugby.

The Wallabies will be hoping that Suaalii can make a similar impact at Test level.

Australia is looking to bounce back from their 37-14 defeat to England at Twickenham last weekend. Rennie has made several changes to his team in an effort to improve their performance.

In addition to Suaalii, prop Angus Bell and lock Will Skelton have been recalled to the starting line-up. Fly-half James O'Connor will captain the side in the absence of Michael Hooper, who is unavailable due to a calf injury.

The Wallabies will face a tough challenge against Wales.

Wales are ranked eighth in the world and will be looking to make a statement against Australia. They have a strong team, led by captain Alun Wyn Jones.

The match is expected to be a close contest. The Wallabies will need to be at their best if they want to beat Wales and get their tour back on track.
