England stars take over the mic at London Underground stations to help promote the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup

The Lionesses are lending their voices to London Underground announcements this weekend in a bid to promote the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup.

The England stars will be taking over the mic at stations across the network, including King's Cross St Pancras, Oxford Circus, and Victoria.

They will be making announcements about the tournament, which kicks off on Friday, and encouraging people to get behind the Lionesses.

'A historic moment'

England manager Phil Neville said: "This is a historic moment for women's football and we are delighted to be able to partner with TfL to help promote the World Cup.

"The Lionesses are role models for young girls and boys alike, and we hope that their voices will inspire people to come and support the team at the World Cup."

TfL's director of customer experience, Mark Evers, said: "We are delighted to be working with the Lionesses to help promote the FIFA Women's World Cup.

"The tournament is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate women's football and we hope that our customers will enjoy hearing the Lionesses' voices on our announcements."
