Tybura earns second straight win with Diniz finish

Marcin Tybura earned his second consecutive victory when he defeated Jhonata Diniz via second-round TKO in a heavyweight bout at UFC 309 on Saturday at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

Tybura (24-7 MMA, 12-6 UFC) moved to 4-2 in his past six fights, while Diniz (21-5-1 MMA, 5-3 UFC) had his three-fight winning streak snapped.

Tybura dominates Diniz on the ground

Tybura landed a right hand that dropped Diniz early in the first round. Tybura took Diniz's back and controlled him on the ground for the remainder of the round.

In the second round, Tybura continued to dominate Diniz on the ground. He eventually took Diniz's back again and landed a series of punches that forced the referee to stop the fight.

The official time of the stoppage was 2:19 of the second round.

With the win, Tybura moved up to No. 13 in the UFC heavyweight rankings. Diniz dropped to No. 15.
