Matt Taylor: Crawley Town appoint Bristol Rovers manager as new head coach
Crawley Town have appointed Bristol Rovers manager Matt Taylor as their new head coach.
Taylor, 41, has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at the League Two club, and will take charge of his first game on Saturday against Mansfield Town.
He replaces Kevin Betsy, who was sacked by Crawley last week after just 10 months in charge.
Taylor has a good track record as a manager, having led to promotion to League One in 2021-22.
He also guided Rovers to the semi-finals of the EFL Trophy last season.
Taylor said he was "delighted" to be appointed as Crawley's new head coach.
"I'm really excited about the opportunity to work with this group of players and help the club achieve its goals," he said.
"I've been impressed by the ambition and professionalism of everyone at the club, and I'm confident that we can have a successful season together."
Crawley chairman Preston Johnson said he was "delighted" to have appointed Taylor as the club's new head coach.
"Matt is a highly-respected manager with a proven track record of success," he said.
"We're confident that he is the right person to lead Crawley Town forward and help us achieve our ambitions."
Taylor will be assisted by former Crawley player and coach Lee Bradbury.
Bradbury, 50, has been appointed as Taylor's assistant head coach.
Bradbury made over 150 appearances for Crawley as a player, and was also the club's manager from 2018 to 2020.
He has also worked as a coach at Portsmouth and Havant & Waterlooville.
Taylor and Bradbury will be joined by goalkeeping coach Lewis Price at Crawley.
Taylor's appointment is a major coup for Crawley Town.
He is a highly-rated manager with a proven track record of success.
Crawley will be hoping that Taylor can help them achieve their目標 in League Two this season.
The club are currently 12th in the table, and will be looking to push for a play-off place under Taylor's leadership.
