Man Stabbed to Death in Manchester's Moss Side

Police have launched a murder investigation following the fatal stabbing of a man in Manchester's Moss Side area.

The incident occurred on Princess Road at around 10:30pm on Friday night (17th February 2023).

Emergency services were called to the scene, where they found a man in his 20s suffering from multiple stab wounds. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second man, also in his 20s, was found nearby with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital for treatment, where his condition is described as stable.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses and information about the incident. No arrests have yet been made.

In a statement, Detective Superintendent Phil Reade said: "This was a tragic incident that has resulted in the senseless loss of a young man's life. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

"We are determined to find the person or people responsible for this crime and bring them to justice. We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have any information that could assist our investigation, to come forward.

"We understand that incidents like this can cause concern in the community, and we want to reassure residents that we are doing everything we can to investigate this incident and ensure the safety of the public.

"There will be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days, and we would encourage anyone with any concerns to speak to our officers."
