Wales head to Turkey looking to secure a crucial Nations League victory

Rob Page's side currently sit third in Group A4, two points behind leaders Netherlands and one adrift of second-placed Poland.

Victory in Istanbul on Thursday, October 13 (kick-off 5pm UK time) would put Wales in a strong position to reach the semi-finals.

But with a daunting trip to group winners Netherlands to come next month, Wales must secure a positive result in Turkey to keep their hopes alive.

Page has a number of selection dilemmas to consider ahead of the trip to Turkey.

In defence, Neco Williams and Ben Davies are pushing for recalls after returning from injury.

But Page could keep faith with the back four that started the 2-1 defeat to Poland last month.

Kieffer Moore is likely to lead the line for Wales, but there are several options to support him.

Gareth Bale, Brennan Johnson and Daniel James are all in contention to start, while Rubin Colwill could also be given a chance to impress.

Page will need to find the right balance between experience and youth in his attack.

Wales have typically played a 4-3-3 formation under Page, but they could switch to a more cautious approach against Turkey.

A 4-2-3-1 formation would allow Wales to pack the midfield and try to stifle the Turkish attack.

Alternatively, Page could stick with 4-3-3 and instruct his team to press Turkey high up the pitch.

This is a tough game to call, but Wales should have enough quality to edge it.
