Oti Mabuse Defends Decision to Leave Daughter at Home While Starring on 'DWTS'
Former 'Strictly' Professional Speaks Out
Oti Mabuse, who left the UK's 'Strictly Come Dancing' in 2021, has defended her decision to leave her 13-month-old daughter, Mari, at home while she competes on 'Dancing With the Stars' in the US.
Balancing Motherhood and Career
In an interview with The Sun, Mabuse emphasized the importance of pursuing her career while also being a present mother.
"I'm a working mom," she said. "I have a daughter, and I love her more than anything in the world. But I also have a career that I'm passionate about."
Support from Family and Husband
Mabuse explained that she has the support of her family and husband, Marius Lepure, who is also a dancer.
"My husband is an incredible father," she said. "He's stay-at-home dad, and he's doing an amazing job.
Video Calls and Daily Routine
Mabuse stays connected with her daughter through video calls and maintains a daily routine to ensure her well-being.
"I call her every day," she said. "We have a set time, and we have a little routine where we play games and read books."
Prioritizing Family Time
Despite her busy schedule, Mabuse makes time to spend with her daughter when she returns home from the US.
"My family is my priority," she said. "Whenever I'm not working, I'm spending time with them."
No Regrets
Mabuse expressed that she has no regrets about her decision and believes it is possible to balance motherhood and career.
"I'm not going to lie, it's not easy," she said. "But I think it's important to show other women that it is possible to have it all."
