Selah's Myers cracks top five in two events
Selah’s Sarah Myers turned in a top-five finish in two events Friday at the Class 2A state swim meet at the King County Aquatic Center.
Myers was fourth in the 100-yard butterfly in a personal-best time of 59.31 seconds.
She also placed fifth in the 500 freestyle (5:21.19), improving her time by nearly 10 seconds.
Davis’ Chloe Larsen placed ninth in the 500 freestyle (5:35.74) to earn a state medal.
Davis’ 200 freestyle relay team of Larsen, Sage Brunton, Grace Gerlach and Shayla Ludeman placed 16th (1:50.86), and the 400 freestyle relay team of Larsen, Brunton, Gerlach and Jennifer O’Brien placed 16th (4:05.26).
Brewster’s 200 medley relay team of Avary Alden, Sophia Buchanan, Ellie Anderson and Payton Henry placed 21st (2:11.01).
Boys soccer
East Valley’s boys soccer season came to an end with a 3-0 loss to Sumner in the first round of the Class 4A state tournament Saturday at Sparks Stadium.
The Red Devils finished the season with a 15-3-2 record.
Davis dropped its Class 4A state opener to Snohomish, 2-1, on Saturday at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner.
The Pirates finished the season with a 15-4-2 record.
