Stockport County, Wrexham AFC promotion race hots up as fixtures confirmed

EFL League Two play-off chasing duo Stockport County and Wrexham AFC will discover their fate on the final day of the season after the full fixture list was confirmed.

County's promotion rivals Swindon Town will travel to Edgeley Park on Saturday, April 30 (3pm), while Wrexham will welcome relegated Scunthorpe United to the Racecourse Ground. If County and Wrexham both win their respective matches, then the Hatters will leapfrog the Welsh club into the final play-off spot on goal difference.

Stockport are three points behind Swindon in the table, but have a superior goal difference of five, meaning a home win against the Robins will be enough to secure a top-seven finish.

Wrexham, meanwhile, are a point further back in eighth place and will need to beat Scunthorpe and hope that County slip up against Swindon in order to qualify for the play-offs. The Iron have already been relegated to the National League, so Wrexham will be confident of securing a victory.

The race for automatic promotion is also set to go down to the wire, with Leyton Orient and Exeter City battling it out for the title.

Orient currently lead the way by a point and will be crowned champions if they avoid defeat at home to Rochdale on the final day. Exeter, meanwhile, will need to beat Barrow and hope that Orient lose in order to secure the title.

The play-offs will take place over two legs, with the semi-finals taking place on May 11 and 14 and the final being held on May 28 at Wembley Stadium.
