Strictly Come Dancing announces its first drag artist for Christmas special
Strictly Come Dancing bosses have announced that its first-ever drag artist will take to the ballroom floor for a Christmas special.
The popular BBC One dancing competition has unveiled a star-studded line-up, including EastEnders' Rose Ayling-Ellis, Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite and TV presenter AJ Odudu.
But perhaps the most surprising name on the list is that of Ginny Lemon, the alter ego of comedian Lewis Gibson, who will become the first drag artist to perform on the show.
Gibson, who uses they/them pronouns, is known for their outrageous outfits and sharp wit, and is sure to bring some added sparkle to the Christmas special.
They said: "This is strictly the most exciting thing to happen to me since I discovered contouring. I can't wait to don my dancing shoes and prove that drag queens really can do anything.
The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special will air on BBC One on Christmas Day.
