Strictly Come Dancing fans say 'best opening ever' as music legends steal BBC show
Celebrities waltz to hit songs by Tina Turner, ABBA, and R.E.M.
Fans of the BBC dance competition were left thrilled by its spectacular opening episode
Strictly Come Dancing fans have hailed the show's opening episode as the "best ever" after a dazzling performance by music legends opened the new series.
The show kicked off with a spectacular group dance to Tina Turner's hit song "Simply the Best," featuring all of the professional dancers and the 15 celebrity contestants.
The celebrities then took to the dance floor to perform their own routines, with some standout performances from Fleur East, Kym Marsh, and Will Mellor.
But it was the guest performance by ABBA that stole the show, with the Swedish pop group performing their hit song "Waterloo" for the first time in over 40 years.
Fans took to social media to share their excitement about the opening episode, with many calling it the "best ever."
"What an amazing opening episode!" one fan tweeted. "The dancing was incredible, and the ABBA performance was just magical."
Another fan said: "I've been watching Strictly for years, and this was definitely the best opening episode I've ever seen. The celebrities were all so good, and the ABBA performance was just unforgettable."
The new series of Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One on Saturday nights.
