Strictly's Chris McCausland spills reason daughter begged him not to join BBC show
Former Hollyoaks star reveals his daughter's concerns about him finding love on Strictly
Chris McCausland has opened up about his daughter's concerns about him finding love on Strictly Come Dancing. The former Hollyoaks star, who is partnered with Karen Hauer on the BBC show, said his daughter was worried he would "fall in love" with his dance partner.
McCausland, who is married to Hollyoaks actress Naoko Mori, said his daughter was "protective" of him and didn't want him to get hurt.
"She was like, 'Daddy, I don't want you to fall in love with Karen,'" McCausland told The Sun.
"I was like, 'What are you talking about? I'm married!'
"But she was just being protective. She didn't want me to get hurt."
McCausland said he reassured his daughter that he was only interested in winning the show, and that he was not looking for love.
"I said, 'I'm not going to fall in love with Karen. I'm married to your mum and I love her very much,'" McCausland said.
"She was relieved when I told her that."
McCausland and Hauer have been partnered together on Strictly since the show launched in September.
The pair have been praised by the judges for their chemistry and dancing skills, and are one of the favorites to win the show.
