Team's Up – Ireland stars Hayes and Noonan start against the Rangers
Irish stars Denise Hayes and Niamh Noonan are set to make their Rangers debuts against Motherwell on Sunday.
The duo joined the Scottish giants from Shelbourne in January and have been training with their new team-mates for the past few weeks.Hayes, a defender, has been capped 56 times by Ireland and was part of the squad that reached the quarter-finals of the 2019 World Cup.
Noonan, a midfielder, has won 13 caps for her country and was also part of the World Cup squad.
The pair will be hoping to make an immediate impact for Rangers, who are currently top of the Scottish Women's Premier League.
Rangers are unbeaten in their opening seven league games and have a three-point lead over second-placed Celtic.
The Glasgow derby between Rangers and Celtic is one of the most fiercely contested in women's football and Hayes and Noonan will be hoping to play a part in a Rangers victory.
Hayes and Noonan are not the only Irish players at Rangers, with goalkeeper Megan Walsh and defender Claire O'Riordan also on the books.
The quartet will be hoping to help Rangers win their first league title since 2019.
Rangers will be without injured midfielder Nicola Docherty for the game against Motherwell, but they will be boosted by the return of Wales international Rachel Rowe.
Motherwell are currently fifth in the league and will be looking to cause an upset against the leaders.
The game will be played at the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie and kicks off at 2pm.
