The Musician Who Tattooed a Bristol to Somerset Bus Route Onto His Chest
Musician's Unique Tribute to Beloved Bus Service
A musician from Bristol has made a permanent tribute to his beloved bus service by tattooing the entire route onto his chest. James Lewis, 36, got the inking to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the X4 bus, which runs from Bristol to Somerset.
A Love of Local History
Lewis, who is a member of the Bristol Community History Group, has always been fascinated by local history. He was inspired to get the tattoo after learning about the X4 bus's long and colorful history.
The X4 bus was first launched in 1947 and has become an iconic part of the Bristol landscape. It serves a vital role for many commuters and has played a part in the lives of countless people over the years.
A Painstaking Process
The tattoo took over 10 hours to complete and is incredibly detailed. It features the entire route of the X4 bus, complete with all the stops and landmarks along the way.
The tattoo was done by tattoo artist Alex Binnie at the Black Rabbit Tattoo Studio in Bristol. Binnie is known for his intricate and realistic tattoos.
A Conversation Starter
Lewis says that the tattoo has already become a conversation starter. He has been approached by people all over Bristol who want to know the story behind the inking.
Lewis is delighted with his new tattoo and says that it is a permanent reminder of his love for Bristol and its history.
