Former Norwich City star dies at the age of 42 after battling illness

Former Norwich City star Abdulkadar Chadli has died at the age of 42 after battling an illness. The Morocco international made 60 appearances for the Canaries between 2004 and 2007, scoring four goals. He was a popular figure among fans and teammates alike, and his death has been met with great sadness.Chadli’s former Norwich teammate, Darren Huckerby, said: “He was a great lad, a kind and caring person. He was always smiling and he will be sadly missed.”
Norwich City manager, Dean Smith, said: “I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Abdulkadar Chadli. He was a talented player and a great character. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.”
Chadli was born in Belgium in 1980 and began his career with Anderlecht. He moved to Norwich City in 2004 and quickly became a firm favorite with the fans. He was a skillful and versatile player who could play in a number of positions.
Chadli left Norwich City in 2007 to join Derby County. He also played for Southampton, Portsmouth, and Blackpool before returning to Belgium in 2011.
Chadli retired from playing in 2014 and became a coach. He worked with the Moroccan national team and was also the head coach of Belgian club, Seraing.
Chadli is survived by his wife and seven children.
