Tybura claims third first-round finish in his last four fights

Marcin Tybura continued his impressive run of form at UFC 309, unleashing a barrage of hellbows on Jhonata Diniz that forced the doctor to wave off the fight due to a gruesome cut just 65 seconds into the opening round.

The Polish heavyweight has now claimed three first-round finishes in his last four fights, with only an interim title fight defeat by Alexander Volkov interrupting his impressive streak.

Tybura started the fight strongly, using his reach advantage to keep Diniz at bay with a long jab. However, the Brazilian looked to have weathered the early storm and was beginning to find his range when Tybura suddenly exploded into life.

The 36-year-old caught Diniz with a short right hook that dropped him to the canvas. Tybura immediately followed up with a series of brutal ground and pound strikes, including several savage elbows.

Diniz was unable to defend himself and the referee was forced to call a halt to the contest

The victory takes Tybura's record to 23-7 and moves him up to 11th in the UFC heavyweight rankings. He is now on a two-fight winning streak and will be hoping to continue his climb up the division in the coming months.

Diniz, meanwhile, falls to 21-5-1 and sees his three-fight winning streak come to an end. The Brazilian will be hoping to bounce back from this setback and get back into the win column soon.
