5ive's Ritchie Neville reveals he only earned £100 a week in band's hayday
Singer says he was left 'flat broke' when the group split in 2001
Neville has spoken out about his financial struggles in a new interview
5ive star Ritchie Neville has revealed that he only earned £100 a week at the height of the band's fame.
The singer, now 43, said that he was left "flat broke" when the group split in 2001.
Neville has spoken out about his financial struggles in a new interview with The Sun.
He said: "I was only earning £100 a week in 5ive. I was skint. We were all skint."
Neville said that he and his bandmates were "naive" about money.
"We didn't have any financial advice," he said. "We just thought the money would keep rolling in."
But when the band split, Neville found himself with no income.
"I was left with nothing," he said. "I had to sell my house and I had to sell my car."
Neville said that he is now in a better financial position, but he still has to be careful with money.
"I'm not going to blow it all again," he said. "I've learned my lesson."
5ive were one of the most successful boy bands of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
The group had a number of hit singles, including "Keep On Movin'", "Everybody Get Up" and "If Ya Gettin' Down".
The band split in 2001, but they reformed in 2013.
