Bromley bid to continue 'adventure' against Carlisle United

Ravens boss Andy Woodman eyes another FA Cup upset

National League Bromley will look to continue their FA Cup adventure when they host League Two Carlisle United in the first round proper on Saturday.

Bromley, who are currently 12th in the National League, have already knocked out League One Morecambe and League Two Stevenage in this season's competition.

And boss Andy Woodman is hoping his side can cause another upset against Carlisle, who are 12th in League Two.

"It's a great opportunity for us," said Woodman.

"We're playing against a team from a higher division, but we've shown in the previous rounds that we can compete with anyone.

"We're going into the game with a lot of confidence and we're determined to give a good account of ourselves.

"We know it will be a tough game, but we're excited about the challenge."

Carlisle boss Paul Simpson is also expecting a tough game.

"Bromley are a good side," said Simpson.

"They've already beaten two teams from higher divisions in this competition, so we know we'll have to be at our best to get a result.

"We'll be giving them the respect they deserve, but we're also confident that we can win the game.

"It's a great opportunity for us to progress in the FA Cup and we're determined to take it."
