Darcy Graham Equals Record as Scotland Run in Nine Tries Despite Portugal Grit
Scotland have matched their record winning margin against Portugal with a 48-7 victory in Lisbon.
The Scots ran in nine tries in a one-sided contest, with Darcy Graham scoring four of them to equal the Scottish try-scoring record in a match held by Ian Smith and Alan Tait.
Scotland's Tries Flowed Freely
Graham's first try came after just three minutes, and he added two more before half-time, with Kyle Steyn, Pierre Schoeman, and Matt Fagerson also crossing for tries.
In the second half, Graham completed his record-equalling tally, with further tries coming from Rufus McLean and Rory Sutherland.
Portugal Showed Spirit Despite Heavy Defeat
Despite the scoreline, Portugal showed plenty of spirit and determination, and they were rewarded with a late consolation try from replacement hooker Joao Granate.
The result leaves Scotland top of the Rugby Europe Championship table with two wins from two games, while Portugal are bottom of the standings with two defeats.
