Forres Featured in Upcoming BBC Comedy
Local Town to Take Centre Stage in New Series
Filming to Commence in Moray This Summer
The Moray town of Forres is set to take centre stage in a new BBC comedy series, which will begin filming in the area this summer.
The six-part series, entitled ‘The Highland Midwife’, will follow the life of a young midwife who moves to the fictional town of Ardfern, loosely based on Forres, to start her new job.
The show will be written by Morven Ritchie, who grew up in Forres, and will feature a cast of both local and established actors.
Filming is expected to take place in and around Forres for several weeks, and the production team is keen to involve local people in the project.
Speaking about the new series, Morven Ritchie said: "I'm so excited to be bringing ‘The Highland Midwife’ to life, and I'm delighted that we'll be filming in the beautiful town of Forres."
"The show will be a funny, heartwarming, and honest portrayal of life in a small Highland community, and I can't wait to share it with the world," she added.
The BBC has not yet announced a release date for ‘The Highland Midwife’, but it is expected to air later this year.
