'If Truth Be Known' – Colchester Boss Makes Bradford City Point

Colchester United boss Matt Bloomfield has admitted that his side were "lucky" to escape with a point against Bradford City on Tuesday night.

The U's were second best for much of the game and Bradford could have won it in the dying seconds when Andy Cook fired wide from close range.

Bloomfield said: "We got away with one tonight. Bradford were the better side and we were lucky to get a point."

"We need to be better than that. We gave the ball away too cheaply and we didn't create enough chances."

Colchester are now 12th in League Two after the draw, while Bradford are 17th.

The U's have won just two of their last seven games and Bloomfield knows that his side need to improve if they want to challenge for promotion this season.

"We need to be more consistent," he said. "We've had some good results and some bad results recently. We need to find a way to put a run together."

"We've got a big game on Saturday against Mansfield Town. We need to get back to winning ways and start climbing the table."

Bradford City boss Mark Hughes was disappointed with his side's failure to win the game.

He said: "We should have won the game. We created enough chances to win two or three games."

"We were wasteful in front of goal and we paid the price. We need to be more clinical in the final third."

"We're still a work in progress. We've got a lot of new players in the squad and we're still trying to find our best formation."

"But I'm confident that we can turn things around. We've got a good squad of players and we're capable of winning games."
