Scott Robertson Excited for the Challenger Series to Pick the Next All Blacks Coach
Former All Blacks loose forward Scott Robertson is looking forward to the upcoming Challenger Series and is excited to see who will be the next coach of the All Blacks.
Robertson, who captained the Crusaders to six Super Rugby titles, said he is confident in the NZRU's process for selecting the next All Blacks coach and is looking forward to seeing what the other candidates bring to the table.
The Challenger Series will see Robertson and fellow candidates Joe Schmidt and Jamie Joseph take charge of the All Blacks for one match each against the Barbarians, Ireland and Scotland respectively.
Robertson said he is relishing the opportunity to coach the All Blacks and is confident he can lead the team to success. He said he has a clear vision for the team and is looking forward to implementing his ideas.
Robertson is one of the most successful coaches in New Zealand rugby history. He led the Crusaders to six Super Rugby titles in seven years, including a record-breaking five consecutive titles from 2017 to 2021.
Robertson is also a former All Black and played 23 Tests for New Zealand between 2002 and 2005. He was a member of the All Blacks team that won the Rugby World Cup in 2003.
The NZRU is expected to announce the next All Blacks coach in December. The new coach will take over from Ian Foster, who was sacked after the All Blacks lost the second Test of their series against Ireland in July.
