**Strictly stars heading to Southend for opening night of Christmas By The Sea**

**Strictly Come Dancing stars are set to turn on the Christmas lights at Adventure Island's Christmas By The Sea event.**

The popular BBC show's professional dancers Neil Jones and Katya Jones will be making a special appearance at the seafront park on Friday, November 18 to officially launch the festive extravaganza.

The pair will be joined by CBBC presenter Karim Zeroual, who won the glitterball trophy in 2019 with professional partner Amy Dowden.

Christmas By The Sea, which runs until January 2, will see Adventure Island transformed into a winter wonderland with a huge outdoor ice rink, Christmas market, festive food and drink stalls and a brand new 4D cinema experience.

The event is part of Southend's Christmas programme, which also includes a Christmas market in the town centre and a festive light trail in Priory Park.

Tickets for Christmas By The Sea are on sale now, priced at £15 per person.
