Tarryn Allarakhia Previews Wealdstone
Wealdstone FC returned to training on Tuesday evening after a well-earned break over the festive period.
The Stones had a busy schedule over Christmas and New Year, playing five games in 12 days, but they came through that period unbeaten, including a memorable 1-0 win over Notts County at Meadow Lane on New Year's Day.
Manager Dean Brennan was pleased with the team's performance over the festive period and is looking forward to the second half of the season.
"I'm really pleased with how the team has performed over the festive period," said Brennan. "We've played some really good football and got some good results, so we're in a good position going into the second half of the season."
Wealdstone are currently 12th in the National League table, just five points off the play-off places.
Brennan believes that his team can challenge for the play-offs this season, but he knows that they will need to continue to work hard and improve their consistency.
"We've got a good squad of players and we're capable of beating anyone in this league," said Brennan. "But we need to continue to work hard and improve our consistency if we want to challenge for the play-offs."
Wealdstone's next game is at home to Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday, January 14.
The Stones will be looking to continue their good form and close the gap on the play-off places.
