Maguire needs a top-five finish in Dubai to qualify for the season-ending event
Graeme McDowell remains in contention for a place at next week's DP World Tour Championship after carding a third-round 69 at Jumeirah Golf Estates.
The 2010 US Open champion is tied for 11th place on eight under par, seven shots behind leader Rory McIlroy.
McDowell needs to finish in the top five in Dubai to qualify for the season-ending event, and he is currently projected to finish in sixth place.
Shane Lowry is also in contention for a place at the DP World Tour Championship, but he will need to make a big move on Sunday.
The 2019 Open champion is tied for 20th place on five under par, nine shots behind McIlroy.
Lowry needs to finish in the top three in Dubai to qualify for the season-ending event, and he is currently projected to finish in 10th place.
Padraig Harrington is the only other Irishman in the field, and he is tied for 40th place on one under par.
Harrington has no chance of qualifying for the DP World Tour Championship, but he will be hoping to finish the season on a high.
The final round of the DP World Tour Championship will be played on Sunday, November 22.
